Branding | Nashville Wedding Planners Group

After the ladies at the helm of the Nashville Wedding Planners Group asked me to design the invitation for their inaugural meeting, it was a natural fit for Tiffani and Jennifer to come to Design in August for an official logo design.  We continued the modern twist on vintage look, and pursued a logo design that would be able to rock the top of a blog header.  Another function of the logo was to create an adapted version that would serve as a vendor or “Member” badge for local area event planners to place on their own sites.  In simply adding a tag to the existing logo to create a badge, the Nashville Wedding Planners Group have a strong, unified look that is immediately recognizable.

As always it was a delight to work with you, gals.  And thank you for the spotlight on our Studio as well!

Branding | Ian Riley

I happen to love Ian Riley’s approach to photography.  He shoots journalistically, but with an eye for fine art.  His images could be considered quietly and thoughtfully in any gallery of art.  So when it came time to brand his photography business the approach was natural – Ian wanted a typographic logo set in an environment that conveyed a fine art gallery feel.  The resulting printed pieces: minimal type, clean black and white lines, plenty of airy canvas space.  We let the photography take center stage.  And for a pop of color, we collaborated with a watercolor artist to add that little bit of artistic whimsy.

Logo Design + Business Card + Promotional Card

Another unique quality about Ian Riley is his commitment and care to operating a sustainable, eco-friendly photography business.  As a member of 1% For the Planet he offers clients museum quality prints on cotton rag paper, hand-bound albums, and gallery frames for enlargements using reclaimed wood, among other products.  So it follows that his commitment to sustainability would play out in the paper we used for his branding materials.  After a thorough search, I found this gorgeous, textured paper that mimics watercolor canvas and yet also met his eco-friendly standards: it’s made from 100% post-consumer waste fibers.  Win!  Win!

Branding | Music City Events

I have had the opportunity to join efforts with Sarah Willard of Music City Events on several occasions now.  Ever heard of a fabulous little fête called the Little Black Dress Revue?  She is a talented multi-tasker with exceptional taste and make-it-happenness – qualities that make her an invaluable event planner, as well as an excellent client!  When she approached me to help her rebrand her own business, I was quite eager to jump at the chance.

The result of our meeting of the minds is this lively, clean, modern and yet timeless new look.  Sarah wanted a brand image with several possible iterations – a primary logo that, when appropriate, could be separated into a simple word mark (Music City Events) or a stand-alone symbol (MCE).  If you look carefully, you will see an “MCE” in the circle.  Bright peacock compliments a warm grey to finish off this contemporary palette.  Sarah, it’s always a pleasure to team up with you!  Congrats on rolling out the new look!

Branding | Logo Design + Brand Management

There’s more than stationery coming out of the Studio these days.  Did you know that Design in August offers logo & identity package design?  From logos to business cards, letterheads to direct mail pieces, brochures to out-of-home (OOH) marketing – even vehicle wraps!  If you need it designed, I can design it for you.  What are the core values, vision and goals of your venture?  How do you hope to visually communicate those ideals?  What colors strike a chord with you and best fit the product or service you are selling?  I would love to help you answer these questions.
